Osteoporosis Screenings are simple, painless and take only a few minutes to complete.
Our portable screening equipment scans your heel and prints out a report within minutes. The report will chart your bone mass and compare it to the normal average.
Our trained staff will explain your report to you as well as provide education about your necessary calcium intake and ways to maintain a healthy calcium level.
Your report will also be forwarded, with complete confidence, to your family physician for their review. If you do not have a physician at the time of your screening, our Community Outreach Medical Director, Dr. Cynthia Recinto, will review your report and contact you if further testing is necessary.

Free or low cost mammograms are available at Jersey Shore Hospital or at a screening with the Lackawanna Mobile Unit.
Women who qualify for a free or low cost mammogram must meet age and income criteria.
These screenings include breast health education, instructing patients on how to give self-breast exams, what to look for during your self-exams and how to best care for your needs.
Screenings are held throughout the year and require an appointment.
Statistics have proven that many women have become survivors of Breast Cancer because of early detection through routine screenings.

Our Colorectal Cancer Screenings are simple and may be done in the privacy of your own home.
Jersey Shore Hospital provides Lycoming County residents age 50 and older with EZ Detect Kits to screen for occult blood in your stool.
It’s very simple, you take the test home and record the results from the EZ Detect Kit and mail the results to Jersey Shore Hospital. The screening is completely non-invasive and sanitary.

Classes on Smoking Cessation are available at Jersey Shore Hospital. Each class is 4 weeks in length. The program provides support, educational materials and suggestions to quitting smoking.

Introductory Meeting, getting rid of your tobacco products, receiving educational material

Monday – Quit day
Tuesday – Thursday – 1 hour support meetings
Week 3
Monday & Wednesday – 1 hour support meetings
Week 4
Support meetings and graduation
