Jersey Shore Hospital Names Dr. Nicholas Fasano as Radiologist

Jersey Shore, PA (August 28, 2008) - Jersey Shore Hospital has recently named Dr. Nicholas Fasano as Radiologist. Fasano will be conducting general and diagnostic radiology.

Fasano graduated from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in biology/chemistry. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Fasano's internship led him to Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, where he stayed for one year. His residency was then completed at the University of Miami.

Having worked at the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg for two years, Fasano was delighted to hear of Jersey Shore Hospital's new 45,000-square foot addition.

"It was a great possibility of getting into something at the ground level… with all this new equipment here… and really being able to be part of something that is like a whole new hospital," said Fasano. "Because if there is something the community needs, this hospital will do it."

Fasano will be joining Dr. Lisa Strawser in the radiology department, with main duties including diagnostic imaging procedures, biopsies and minor surgical procedures.

And while some may question his young age, Fasano believes that it is important to have young radiologists in the business.

"The training and the information is always changing," he said. "There are always new techniques, and it's nice to have someone who was just recently trained on all the technology that is out there."

Fasano also said that collectively, the hospital is excited to have the capabilities and experience to better serve the community.

"You'll be able to find the technology and staff that accompanies [any large hospital], but also provide a pleasant experience and patient-doctor interaction," he said.
