Thomas Connolly, M.D., FACS, to join Jersey Shore Hospital Medical Associates

Jersey Shore, PA (October 21, 2008) - Thomas Connolly, M.D., FACS, will soon join the Jersey Shore Hospital Medical Associates as an orthopedic surgeon.

Connolly, who has been practicing general orthopedic surgery since 1989, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 1980. He then graduated medical school from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

From there, Connolly participated in a surgical internship at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and completed his orthopedic residency at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Connolly's specialties include minimally invasive total knee and hip replacement, minimally invasive fracture repair, back pain diagnosis and management, trauma, arthroscopic surgery, regenerative chondroplasty, geriatric orthopedic disorders, occupational injuries, aquatic rehabilitation, hand surgery, diagnosis and management of sports-related injuries and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.

Connolly's office will be located in the former emergency department at Jersey Shore Hospital and he will begin seeing patients with the onset of the New Year. "The state-of-the-art equipment here at Jersey Shore is warm and welcoming to patients and myself," said Connolly.

With hopes of easy access to patients and a specialization in outpatient surgery, Connolly wants patients to feel as if they belong in his new home. "Patients will get to see a qualified doctor, with same or next-day appointments in a safe, friendly community health care environment," he said.
