Internist Granted Privileges at Jersey Shore Hospital

JERSEY SHORE—The Jersey Shore Hospital Medical Staff, Board of Directors, and Administration would like to announce medical privileges granted to a new physician in the area.

Dr. Vijay Sandilya, from the group Cancer Care of Central PA, was recently awarded courtesy privileges to hospitalize and treat inpatients at Jersey Shore Hospital.

Sandilya is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Hematology/Oncology. He will be taking those boards in November.

At his office—located in the Bald Eagle Business Plaza in McElhattan—Sandilya treats patients with all solid tumors, all blood cancers except acute leukemia, benign hematological disorders such as anemia or clotting and bleeding disorders, cytopenias such as low or elevated blood counts, and more.

“My most common patients are those with breast, colon, or lung cancers,” said Sandilya. “I also see a lot of patients with anemia in this area.”

Onsite at his office is a full chemotherapy suite with infusion capabilities, laboratory, and examination rooms. Sandilya has the ability to perform bone marrow biopsies in the procedure room as well.

Cancer Care of Central PA is a group of 5 medical oncologists, 1 radiation oncologist and 2 physician assistants. They have offices located in Selinsgrove, Lewisburg, Elysburg, and McElhattan.
