Jersey Shore Hospital Welcomes Anesthesiologist

JERSEY SHORE–Jersey Shore Hospital is proud to welcome Anesthesiologist Shairko Missouri, M.D. to their family of physicians.

Dr. Missouri received his medical education in Baghdad and received supplemental medical education in Norway. Also completing residency in Norway, Dr. Missouri was certified by the Norwegian Board in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care in 1997 where he spent four years.

Dr. Missouri’s fellowship was conducted in England in adult cardiothoracic anesthesia. He then spent three years in England as part of their faculty, completed a two-year tenure as Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Texas at Houston, and then spent four years at the American Hospital in Dubai.

Having three children in Boston, Dr. Missouri is excited with a position at Jersey Shore Hospital, as he will be closer to Peter, Michael, and Rawan.

“I’ve spent a lot of my career in larger hospitals and larger cities. The opportunity to work at Jersey Shore Hospital was intriguing to me because it will allow me to give the most of myself and my expertise to the area,” said Dr. Missouri. “In a small town, you can really work for the people of the community, and I want to be able to use my medical skills to make a difference.”

In his spare time, Dr. Missouri enjoys fishing, guitar and singing, painting and drawing, as well as swimming, soccer, and other sports.
