JERSEY SHORE—Two local entities recently made a donation of artwork to the Jersey Shore Hospital for use in their Quiet Room.
Lifetree Church and Susquehanna Gallery and Frame Shoppe—both of Jersey Shore—recently donated a set of nature prints to the hospital which include “Sacred Grove” by Greg Olsen, “Renewed Hope” by David Seybold and “Mountain Grandeur” also by Olsen. The hospital added a Thomas Kincade work entitled “Cobblestone Mill” to round out the set.
“We really appreciate the opportunity to partner with the hospital and the Susquehanna Gallery and Frame Shoppe by donating this artwork for the Quiet Room,” said Lifetree Church Pastor Drew Wilkerson.
Dewey Oakes, owner of the frame shop agreed. “And the Seybold piece was actually used as a benefit for the American Cancer Society last year,” he said.
The hospital’s Quiet Room is located between the main lobby and the Emergency Department, and is used when a patient’s family needs a safe, quiet place to relax and collect his thoughts. The newly added artwork completes the room’s décor.
“These pieces of art really add something special to the room… they definitely give the room life, and it will be a huge benefit to the patients at our facility,” said Cinde Bower-Stout, director of patient care services. “I hope the community will enjoy these as much as we do.” |
