Jersey Shore Hospital is proud to announce two brand new equipment editions; the Kendall SCD EXPRESS Compression System and Puritan Bennett® 840 Ventilator System.
The Kendall SCD EXPRESS is a compression system that uses a small, compact machine to pump pressure through tubes into specially made sleeves for the purpose of preventing blood clots.
For example, after a patient has leg surgery and they are expected to be immobilized for an extended period of time, the adjustable sleeve can be put on over the leg and the compressions will help to clear out the veins in the leg to prevent clotting.
As for the new ventilator system, it was a much needed upgrade. The Puritan Bennett® 840 is a state-of-the-art ventilator system that is responsive to the patient offering comfort and delivering precise breaths to those who are having respiratory distress.
Hospital nurses are extremely excited about the new ventilator. Cindy Grenninger, R.N., Director of Cardiopulmonary and Health Education Departments, went on to say, “this ventilator is wonderful! It is top-of-the-line and it will be very user-friendly for the nursing staff. We are proud to be able to offer this machine to the community.” |
