JERSEY SHORE—Dr. William Schlorff, podiatrist at Pine Creek Podiatry in Avis, recently attended the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle, Wash.
The national meeting, which was attended by over 600 podiatric physicians and surgeons from throughout the country, included lectures on diabetic wound care, sports medicine, advanced foot and ankle surgery as well as practice management.
Schlorff, the current president of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association, met with many of the convention’s key leaders to discuss important issues facing the medical profession today, including residency education and the effects of the recent healthcare reform legislation.
“It’s important, especially in my position as Pennsylvania’s Podiatric Medical Association president, to attend these conferences so that I can inform my colleagues of continuing changes in the healthcare environment and benefit my patients by staying abreast of new surgical techniques and technologies,” said Schlorff.
Pine Creek Podiatry is located at 345 East Central Ave., Avis. Schlorff can be reached by calling 570-753-4335.
