ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON PASSES RE-EXAMINATION BOARDS

JERSEY SHORE—The Medical Staff, Board of Directors, and Administration at Jersey Shore Hospital would like to congratulate one of their newest surgeons for passing his re-examination boards from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Jersey Shore Hospital Orthopedic Surgeon Thomas Connolly, M.D., FACS, FAAOS was recently awarded board recertification until December 2021 from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

For recertification, Connolly had to pass a stringent, three-hour oral examination in Chicago on July 20, 2010. Prior to sitting for the exam, he was required to complete 120 hours of continuing medical education and undergo a stringent peer-review process. In order to maintain board certification, this process must be performed by orthopedic surgeons every ten years. This is the third time he has taken and passed this exam.

Connolly currently performs general orthopedic fracture care on adults and children, total knee or total hip replacements, diagnoses and manages back pain, evaluates and treats workers’ compensation cases, performs a wide variety of hand surgeries, and diagnoses and manages sports-related injuries. He is one of the only surgeons in this region repairing rotator cuffs completely arthroscopically.

Connolly is currently accepting new patients, and appointments are available on short notice. His office is located within the Jersey Shore Hospital campus, and may be reached by calling 570-398-5710.

Pine Creek Podiatry is located at 345 East Central Ave., Avis. Schlorff can be reached by calling 570-753-4335.
